Burns Real Food for Dogs is based on the home-made diet which I used to recommend. There are no secret or magic ingredients. it is a simple food which is intended to allow the body to carry out these functions. In this way Burns enables the body to heal itself, to maintain a state of good health and prevent deterioration of the organ systems. The main way in which Burns does this is by minimising the amount of waste matter the body needs to eliminate. Burns is based on brown rice, a food which has long been recognised as being beneficial in the prevention and treatment of illness. The main protein source is chicken or fish or lamb which are highly digestible compared to other proteins. Sunflower oil and chicken oil provide essential fatty acids and seaweed provides an organic source of minerals.Owners find that when the dog goes on to Burns the dog's condition is transformed. Skin and coat condition improve. Hair stops falling out, itching ceases and the coat becomes glossy with a silky feel. Unpleasant odours disappear and older dogs become more lively, less stiff and generally more interested in life. In short, the same benefits as with my home-cooked regime.
